Henry Dearborn papers 1777-1823

Henry Dearborn (1751-1829), an officer in the Continental Army, was U.S. Secretary of War and representative to Congress from Massachusetts. Collection consists of Dearborn's correspondence, diaries, sketch of his life, account of the Battle of Bunker Hill in 1775, materials relating to the battle, and other printed matter. Dearborn's diaries, 1777-1781, pertain to the American revolution. Materials on the Battle of Bunker Hill were assembled by Henry Alexander Scammell Dearborn in 1820. Printed materials include auction catalog clippings.
